Children’s Book Update
From author Kelly Lardin’s blog:
Josiah and Julia Go To Church
Coming in March 2012!
I’ll update this page as the book is completed. This is a slow process. I wrote Josiah and Julia Go to Church about 3 years ago under the working title Siah and Ya Go to Church. It’s a very simple story about how to behave in church, from making the sign of the cross to waiting in line to kiss the cross. Children at our parish liked the two mock up books we made, but it took awhile to find a publisher (Thank you, Conciliar Press). They offered me a contract last summer (2010), asking for a few revisions to soften the lessons and offer explanations for why we do the things we do. In January an illustrator was chosen. In June I received the first draft sketches for the entire book. More recently, I received the final full color pictures, and they are quite cute. I even laughed at a couple of the scenes myself. The spread below is probably my favorite, but it’s hard to choose. I am very excited about this book, and I can’t wait to hold a copy in my hands and read this final version with my kids. I am sure your children will love it as much as mine have.
You’ll soon be able to order your copy for $13.95!
